極簡咖啡館，坐落於師大夜市靠近和平東路的巷子，一個極易會跟著人潮而忽略的巷子。整片的落地窗，往店內一看便可發現正在坐檯的貓孩兒們正以好奇的眼神望向這透明的半邊。知道這裡的人同時知道這是一間貓孩們的桃花源；不知道的人們，也因為那窗邊水汪汪的好奇眼神而被吸引去。
Sitting at the outer rim of the Shida night market, this is a café that you’ll easily miss if you were just following the crowd. Through the French windows, pairs of sparkling eyes are staring through the glass, wandering who you are. Those who knows this place, it’s cats’ paradise and as for those who don’t, welcome in and learn why!

Welcome to “Minimal Café"!
店內皆是木製風格，氣氛令人放鬆，而一進門便可聞到陣陣的咖啡香。入內後，服務生便熱情的招呼、給了menu會請客人自行找位子坐(假日時稍微會管制畢竟人多)。基本上，靠牆的座位都有插座(除了部分沙發椅的區域)，店內也沒有限制用餐時間(這點非常重要)！所以對於想要在咖啡廳做事的人或是聚會皆是一個非常友善的環境，而當過於沉溺於螢幕的世界時，還會有貓孩們跳上來逼你休息眼睛！
Inside this coffee shop, you’ll find it relaxing due to the wooden texture within followed by the smell of freshly brewed coffee. As the waiter offers us the menu, we just find a seat wherever we like (seats are arranged on the weekends though). Basically, you’ll find sockets wherever you sit, except for a few of the sofa seats. There’s no time limit, so I find this a great place to kick back and relax for work or a cool place for friends to sit down and have a talk! Also, when you’ve been working on your laptop for too long, you’ll get a surprise “purr" jumping right in front of you forcing you to take a rest for both eyes and mind!
關於店內的消費，低消為一杯飲料或是一份餐食，二選一。飲料價格介於100~200元間，餐點160~200元間(有套餐組合)，而點心則是80元(有下午茶組合)。套餐時段為中餐1200~1400及晚餐1700~1930，下午茶則為1400~1700，可以在這三個時段間來享受優惠。閱讀著極簡的菜單可發現其不只是一份菜單，簡單的極簡史和可愛巧思的插圖更為這本菜單增添停留在手上的時間，不趕著做事了話可以花點時間閱讀。
To stay for as long as you want, you have to consume from one of the two choices, either a cup of beverage or a set of meal. The pricing range are as follow: beverages(NTD$100-200), meals(NTD$160-200), and snacks(NTD$80). They have discount time slots: lunch discounts from 1200pm-1400pm, afternoon tea discounts from 1400pm-1700pm and dinner discounts from 1700pm-1930pm. Flipping through the menu, the brief Minimal Cafe history and the cute illustrations makes it much more worthwhile reading.
回到主角們身上，店內所看到的貓孩子們以前要不是流浪貓、要不就是小時候被遺棄的孩子。由於老闆娘對於貓孩子們深厚的情感，因此極簡咖啡廳曾經是中途流浪貓之家。知道此後，你便會發現手上正喝的那杯咖啡已不只是你的優閒下午，同時正是這群孩子們食與宿的來源。另外，最近注意到極簡咖啡館與中華民國家庭照顧者總會共同合作推行⌈照顧咖啡館⌋，為長期在家負責家中失能、失智及身心障礙者的主要照顧者並已卸下照顧重擔的⌈畢業照顧者⌋，提供職訓助其重返職場。我想，近幾年所提倡的社會企業，極簡早已在默默的實行，而我們挖掘這大名詞底下的社會，早已有諸多默默無聞的小攤販也正力行著。(聯合報新聞：⌈照顧咖啡館⌋試辦照顧者的交流站)
Back to the leading roles of the coffee shop, all the cats in the shop used to be either stray cats or were abandoned. Due to the love that the owner has for cats, she kept as many as her ability allowed, also establishing a temporary home for stray or abandoned cats until they find their next home. Understanding this, you’ll discover that the cup of coffee that you’re holding is more than just your afternoon tea, but the foundation of the food and shelter for these cute and furry kids. What’s more, Minimal Cafe started to work with the Taiwan Association of Family Caregivers on a “Caregiver Cafe Project", offering internship at the cafe for those who had been taking care of the handicapped family members and now relieved of the job, aiding them to bridge up with the society. Speaking of the social enterprise concept and the gained weight given to CSR that’s been discussed recently in Taiwan, Minimal Cafe has been on this path ever since it was established and so is many more “nobodies" as you dig into it this matter.
對於藝術愛好者，極簡會跟不同的藝術家合作舉辦以貓為主題的展覽。因此，坐在座位上的同時亦可以環顧四周的作品欣賞。展覽相關的資訊可以透過極簡的臉書了解。往店內最深處走去會發現一區義賣區。義賣的東西會隨時間而更新，相關的經費也是捐給照料貓咪相關的單位。不妨挑一張明信片寄給你身旁的貓奴朋友！
What’s more about this coffee shop is that it cooperates with cat lovers to hold exhibitions of works on cats. This adds something else to appreciate and enjoy while sitting in that relaxing seat of yours! More info can be found through their Facebook page. At the end of the shop, there is a room filled with charity items for sale, all designs on cats. Might as well pick a postcard and send it to a crazy cat-loving friend of yours when you’re here!
